We recognise that seafarers value human contact and award in excess of £0.5m each year to support port-based welfare providers such as The Mission to Seafarers, Stella Maris and Sailors’ Society.
We also recognise the increased efficiency, impact and reach that can be obtained from digital welfare services. We’re collaborating with maritime welfare charities to enable seafarers to have greater access to a range of online welfare services.
Digital welfare services funded by The Seafarers’ Charity include ISWAN’s SeafarerHelp – a 24-hour multilingual advice service. We also support The Mission to Seafarers digital chaplaincy programme which offers live online chat with a chaplain.
