Statement on the Galaxy Leader

We welcome the news of the Galaxy Leader crew being released and returned to their families.

These innocent seafarers have had to endure more than 400 days' illegal detention, in increasingly poor conditions.

Attacks on ships are attacks on seafarers, threatening their safety and compromising their working lives. No-one should have to go through such hardship when doing their job.

A stark reminder that seafarers deserve the full support of governments, industry, and the public to ensure that situations like these are not repeated.
