Seapost - January 2025

The latest e-newsletter from The Seafarers' Charity.

We hope you were able to spend the festive season with your loved ones at home. Unfortunately, many seafaring families couldn't. They are facing immense pressures this winter, struggling with rising costs of heating, food, and essentials. If you've already donated to our Winter Appeal, we're deeply grateful. If not, please consider giving what you can to help seafarers and their families through the toughest months of the year.

As part of your New Year’s resolution, why not take on a new challenge? Join us for the 24 Peaks Challenge in the stunning Lake District this July. Not only will you push your limits, but you’ll also help make a lasting difference for seafarers and their families.

We recently sponsored the White Ensign Association's event, ‘New Government, New Maritime Horizons’, where government officials and key figures in maritime gathered to explore the future of the industry under the new government.

We are proud to continue funding Sailors’ Society’s Crisis Response Network, a 24/7 service providing critical care to seafarers, their families and shipping companies following critical incidents such as abandonment, piracy, and conflict.

Finally, we are thrilled to celebrate our Trustee, Monica Kohli OBE, who has been recognised in the 2025 New Year Honours List for her outstanding contributions to promoting diversity in the maritime industry!
