New Government, New Maritime Horizons

Speakers included First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Ben Key, Maritime Minister Mike Kane MP, and a selection of industry experts discussing challenges and opportunities for the maritime industry in 2025.

Several key topics were discussed, prompted by questions from the engaged and knowledgeable audience at Trinity House. These included:

• The role of maritime in the UK’s (and the world’s) energy transition.
• How we ensure the UK remains a leader in maritime training.
• Maritime security, especially given the increase in incidents of shady practices near UK waters.

Unsurprisingly, seafarers themselves were identified as being central to the success of all these initiatives.
