Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Nautilus Welfare Fund
First year of two years' multi-year funding for four caseworkers based in Hull, Cardiff & Bristol, Tyne & Wear and Southampton, providing essential support to retired merchant navy seafarers and their families to access benefits, grants, and other vital services.
Amount awarded: £156,876
The Nautical Institute
Funding to produce a “Thrive in Fishing” strategic report promoting fishing as a rewarding and skilled profession. The paper will enhance and raise fisher self-esteem and support local fishing communities.

Funding to establish a bursary scheme for seafarers from low GDP countries to attend the Nautical Institute’s Leadership & Management training courses which are aimed at addressing toxic leadership within the maritime industry.

The Mission To Seafarers
Funding for the salary of a Port Development Manager for a second year, expanding welfare provision in ports worldwide, particularly in the UK, Europe, Africa, the Middle East & Asia.

The Mission To Seafarers
Funding for the establishment of a dedicated Superyacht Crew Welfare Hub in Antibes, France, to provide essential emotional and practical support to superyacht crew members. The hub will address a gap in welfare provision, enhance mental health awareness, and promote career development for superyacht crew.

International Seafarers' Welfare & Assistance Network
Funding for the part-time salary of a Project Manager to drive the strategic delivery of ISWAN's long-term Welfare of Yacht Crew project and develop and deliver the resources identified by the Changing Tack of Yacht Crew Welfare working group.
