In 2023, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded £2.4m in grants to 50 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.
Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

The Royal Naval Association
Funding to support the running costs of the Royal Naval Association's (RNA) fleet of minibuses, which will facilitate well-being and welfare activities for the naval and seafaring community across the UK.
Amount awarded: £8,000
Royal Alfred Seafarers' Society
Funding to support core staff costs and a digital marketing campaign to increase occupancy at Belvedere House, providing high-quality nursing and dementia care for seafarers and their dependents.

Naval Children’s Charity
Funding for financial and holistic support to Royal Navy (RN) families, children, and young people both in crisis and those affected by the challenges they face because of being from Royal Navy family.
Amount awarded: £100,000
Mission To Seafarers
Funding for the redevelopment of the Shipvisitor App, enabling seamless coordination and enhanced welfare provision amongst ship visiting staff to support seafarers’ welfare throughout the world.
Amount awarded: £30,000
Mission To Seafarers
Funding to expand the SafeTalk programme by delivering suicide awareness and intervention training for seafarers to address the high rates of suicide in maritime.
Amount awarded: £44,000
