Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

International Seafarers Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN)
To deliver a sector-wide, collaborative campaign which raises awareness of the challenges faced by women seafarers; educates on the value of male allyship; and advocates for a safe and inclusive future for all seafarers. Generously co-funded by the UK P&I Club (£30,000)

Merchant Navy Welfare Board
Funding for an Equity, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Pilot Project co-created and co-funded by a cohort of maritime charities including The Seafarers’ Charity.

Nautilus Welfare Fund
Funding the costs of two case worker posts in Hull and Portsmouth/Southampton area from December 2023 until March 2024 to assist retired and needy seafarers and their dependents to access financial, health, and social care services.

Wilson's Mariners' Homes
Funding to provide energy efficient glazing to seafarers alms-house dwellings to improve the quality of life for their resident seafarers, wives, widows and dependants.

CHIRP Charitable Trust
To produce and market five episodes of a new podcast aimed at international maritime professionals exploring issues relating to maritime safety featuring expert guests offering unique perspectives on safety at sea.
Amount awarded: £4,950
UK Sailing Academy
Top-up funding for salaries of two welfare roles and associated resources enabling UKSA to support the wellbeing of beneficiaries when training at UKSA and in the industry, to promote better working lives at sea.
